Bin Liners

With the NZ government's recently announced ban on single use plastic bags and the phasing out of
supermarket bags, people are looking for (certified) eco friendly alternatives to use for their household
rubbish bags (bin liners).

We have the answer to this: Stone Paper Bin Liners

Our Bin Liners are made of 50% Calcium Carbonate (crushed stone) and 50% non-toxic HDPE
resin that is used to bind the finely ground stone together. The crushed stone is gathered from quarry waste and industry offcuts which would normally go to landfill.

These bags are strong, durable and feel luxurious.

The most important feature is that our bags will not release any harmful gases to the
environment should they end up in landfill. (Unlike compostable/biodegradable bags, which release methane when decomposing - a greenhouse gas 25 times more potent than C02 as a heat-trapping gas).

If left outdoors, the sun’s strong UV rays will harden our Stone Paper Bin Liners like an eggshell. Within six months the HDPE converts to 1.7 parts per million of Nitrous Oxide and 75 parts per million of Carbon Monoxide, leaving behind only stone dust (calcium carbonate).

If burned in a waste to energy plant, no toxic smoke is emitted and all that remains is stone dust.
